Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 9, 2026
Birdland Metrics ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website birdlandmetrics.com and the Birdland Metrics mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Newsletter subscription: If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. This is sent to our email service provider, Buttondown, which stores and manages the mailing list on our behalf.
- Mailbag submissions: If you submit a question to our mailbag, we collect your name, email address, and question. These are stored in a secure database and may be published (with your first name only) in mailbag articles.
Information Collected Automatically
- Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous usage data such as pages visited, session duration, device type, browser, and general geographic region. Google Analytics does not collect your name, email, or other personally identifiable information. IP addresses are anonymized by default.
- Session recordings and heatmaps: We use Microsoft Clarity to record anonymous session replays, click heatmaps, and scroll heatmaps. This helps us understand how visitors interact with the site and improve the experience. Clarity does not collect personally identifiable information. Keystrokes in input fields are masked by default.
Browser Storage
- Theme preference: We store your light/dark theme selection in your browser's local storage so it persists across visits. This data never leaves your device.
- Newsletter dismissal: If you dismiss the newsletter prompt, we store a session flag so it doesn't reappear during that browsing session. This is cleared when you close your browser.
Cookies
Birdland Metrics does not set first-party cookies. Third-party services (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) may set cookies to distinguish unique visitors and track sessions. You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings.
